Chisholm is a 16-year-old American Quarter Horse cross that came to the sanctuary in May 2007 after he got into an unlatched feed room and ate 20 to 30 lbs of feed.  He colicked and went into laminits.  He did not receive any medication to help control the laminitis.  His legs swelled and he dropped weight.

His owner was 7 months pregnant and her husband had been injured on the job.  They were unable to care for Chisholm any longer.  They contacted HPS and begged us to take Chisholm and give him the help he needed.

Chisholm is recovering and has gained his weight back.  He is a quiet, sweet gelding and our outlook for his complete recovery is positive.
