Pawnee was rescued from Yadkin County after we received an email from a concerned citizen.  The good person was persistent in tracking down the poor horse when he disappeared from the property right after she sent the email.  She even looked up property records to find other property owned by the same person.  Her action made it possible to find the Palomino gelding that we have renamed Pawnee and to save his life.

Pawnee was a 0 on the Henneke Body Conditioning Scale when rescued.  Every vertebrae and every rib was visible on his body.  He truly appeared to be a walking skeleton.  Thanks to careful deworming and regular meals with proper nutrition, he is returning to health again.  Dental work indicates that he is approximately 29 years old.
