Like so many of the horses at the HPS sanctuary, Inca arrived during the drought of 2007.  She was starved and was rated the lowest possible body score.  A kind person who knew nothing about horses was trying to save her but some neighbors stepped in and asked that Inca come to the sanctuary because they knew Inca needed to be in the hands of experts at saving starved horses.

Inca has completely recovered now from starvation.  She has some arthritis in her right hock but this is not very uncommon for horses her age.  We had hoped she would be suitable for light riding but now believe that she may have EPM.  She has had a few seizures.  She is currently being treated for this condition with Evitex, Super Immune Booster and MMS.

She is a 21-year-old black Quarter Horse mare and 15 hands talls.  She is known for her distinctive white eyebrows and her big personality.  Inca loves baths and the water hose.  She is also known as the "apple bandit".  Inca can turn the door knob on the feedroom with her lips, enter the room, grab an apple and run back out before anyone can stop her!
